Jennette McCurdy, star of “iCarly” on Nickelodeon, is launching a music career, too.  Her debut album hit shelves this week!  The long awaited album (she was supposed to release one last June, but that didn’t work out) features country songs, including her hit “Not That Far Away”.  We found the official video for you, so check it out!

Jennette seems like she has some real talent, and I think it’s great that she’s developing other avenues for her art besides acting.  Some actors seem like they just release albums because it’s expected – ahem, most Disney channel stars- but Nickelodeon doesn’t have the same musical platform and I think that lets the up and coming talents develop their own voice and style.  What do you think?  Who has better actors-turned-music-stars, Nickelodeon or Disney?
